Model Rocketry
Start with the fundamentals, prepare your first flight, and build experience in a supportive club environment.
About ROCI
Built around rocketry, community, and learning.
Rocketeers of Central Indiana (ROCI) is a Central Indiana rocketry club based in Muncie, Indiana. As NAR Section 625 and Tripoli Prefecture 183, we bring together model and high-power rocketeers to fly, learn, build, and share the hobby in a safe and welcoming environment.
A place to fly and learn.
ROCI brings together rocketeers at every stage of the hobby. Whether you're preparing for your first model rocket flight, working toward a certification, or flying a high-power project, you are welcome at the field.
We support both low-power and high-power rocketry through K impulse, giving members and visitors a place to fly, learn from experienced rocketeers, pursue certification, and enjoy the hobby together.
Our organizations
ROCI is NAR Section 625 and Tripoli Prefecture 183. We facilitate both NAR and Tripoli certification flights through Level 2 and follow the applicable NAR and Tripoli safety guidelines at our launches.
Everyone is welcome.
You do not have to be a member or an experienced rocketeer to get involved. Anyone can come to a launch to watch, ask questions, meet other rocketeers, or learn more about the hobby. If you want to fly with us, joining ROCI is the next step.
Our launch site
Fly from AMA Flying Site #1.
ROCI launches from AMA Flying Site #1 at the Academy of Model Aeronautics International Aeromodeling Center in Muncie, Indiana.
Our launch area uses a concrete RC aircraft tarmac, providing a dedicated place for members to prepare and fly their rockets while sharing the field with the broader model aviation community.
Our waiver allows launches up to 6,000 feet AGL, and ROCI supports low-power and high-power flights through K impulse.
